Hendersonville students test drive robotic surgery at TriStar Hendersonville

Hendersonville high school students studying health science, biology and robotics had the opportunity to “test drive” a robotic surgery at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center recently.

The hospital invited about 20 students from each of the city’s four high schools: Merrol Hyde Magnet School, Pope John Paul II, Beech and Hendersonville High School to witness an exclusive robotic surgery experience with a specially trained surgeon.

On Aug. 28, Dr. Loucinda Dampier, a general surgeon at the hospital, explained to a group of Hendersonville High School students that she was the first surgeon on staff to perform a robotic surgery……
