Hendersonville leaders call temporary halt to digital signs

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — There will be no new digital billboards in Hendersonville city limits, at least through Nov. 7. Hendersonville City Council approved the temporary moratorium earlier this month.

The moratorium comes as more businesses apply to install signs, not to advertise other products but rather their own. The concern for council is aesthetic but also safety for drivers, some of whom complain the signs that flash are distracting from the road.
