Cummings Cove Community’s Fundraising Efforts to Benefit WCCA’s Etowah Children’s Center

The group chooses a local nonprofit and rallies their fellow residents to come out and support their efforts through a variety of fundraisers including: golf and tennis tournaments, Ping Pong matches, walk-a-thons, Mahjongg games – even dinner out at local hotspots like The Surf & Brew whose owner recently donated 10% of the evening’s proceeds. The month-long fundraisers help bring their small community together for a greater purpose – to give back to Henderson County. In the past, CC Cares has helped purchase medical equipment for Pardee Hospital and provided housing to homeless teens through Only Hope WNC.

This year, CC Cares selected WCCA’s Etowah Children’s Center – a small childcare center that offers Head Start and Early Head Start programs to underprivileged children. The day care center was in need of new playground equipment, educational toys and early childhood books. Volunteers from CC Cares saw the need and jumped into action!….
