Heat wave leads to water woes in Hendersonville

What started as uncomfortable heat in the mountains is becoming a more serious problem.

 

Drought and dry conditions across Western North Carolina are forcing Hendersonville officials to take action. On Friday, officials issued a Stage 1 Water Shortage Advisory and asked residents to begin to voluntarily reduce their water use. It’s strictly voluntary at this point.

The process starts at the Mills River Pumping Station, a small building tucked off the road……
